Katherine Bright’s Music
Katherine Bright has been a musician since her teens; songwriting, playing guitar and singing. She co-founded and led the Sing Australia Choir in Sorell, Tasmania for three years and performed in various bush bands, duets and choirs, etc. over the years in Tasmania. In addition, Katherine has been a professional children’s entertainer for five years during the 1990s in Tasmania, making CDs and entertaining in shopping centres and functions.
As a singer/songwriter, one of her works have been played and performed at the Derwent Entertainment Centre by the Tasmanian Catholic Schools choir, music transcribed for grand piano. This song “The Land That I Love” has also been used in Anzac Day service in Hobart, Tasmania. Katherine has four albums on Itunes.
Katherine moved to Port Macquarie in January 2012 and has performed regularly at Scampi’s restaurant on a weekly basis, performing as a solo guitarist/vocalist. Katherine has been a regular performer at The Glasshouse Luchtime Recitals over the last four years and organised, plus performed in the “Musicians Playing For Change Scout Fundraising Concert” in Port Macquarie. Katherine was a member of local barbershop quartet SassyQ for two years.
Her style is popular music, covers, originals and ballads and she performs at local functions and house concerts.
